Hop-On-Hop-Off Double-Decker Bus Tour in Washington DC
Take the Double-Decker and see the DC sights!
When Pierre Charles L'Enfant gazed northward along the banks of the Potomac River in 1791, he envisioned a "pedestal waiting for a monument." Since that day, Washington DC has evolved into a fascinating, lively city. From its celebrated symbols of patriotism to its undiscovered neighborhoods, the sights and sounds of the U.S. capital city inspire millions of visitors every year.
Packed with famous sights and many free attractions, Washington DC offers inspiring experiences, year-round.
Your Hop-On-Hop-Off Double Decker bus tour provides a unique "birds eye" view of the Capital of the United States, visiting all the key locations. Traveling around the famous National Mall, you will see the US Capitol building, the 15 museums of the Smithsonian, the National Archives, the White House, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials...and across the Potomac River in Virginia, you will find the moving Arlington National Cemetery.
You can also enjoy informative and entertaining commentary, which explains Washington DC's interesting history and points out significant buildings and landmarks. This is available in 8 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese.
Choose either 24 or 48 hour tickets and - if you choose the 48 hour option, you'll get a free 50-minute cruise along the Potomac River, which is available mid-March through mid-October.
This tour also includes a FREE ticket to the world famous Madame Tussauds Museum, with both the 24 or 48 hour tickets!
Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.
Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. Double decker tours offer the best tourist experience in Washington DC. Riding the double decker buses, you will be able to have the most visible sights of famous places like Union Station, the US Capitol building, the White House, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Roosevelt Memorial, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Korean War Memorial, National Cathedral, Air & Space Museum (and any of 17 other amazing museums - some with free entrance from the Smithsonian Foundation).
Your hop on hop off tickets are valid for either 24 or 48 hours - whichever you purchase - giving you a good orientation of all the city has to offer. Each of the individual tour routes takes 60 to 90 minutes if you stay on the bus...but the hop on hop off facility enables you to visit any of the attractions along each route, such as the Arlington National Cemetery - the most hallowed burial ground of America's fallen military and one of the most visited tourist sites in Washington DC. Also located at Arlington are the Tomb of the Unknown, the Memorial Amphiteatre and the Eternal Flame at the John F. Kennedy burial site.
The tours feature entertaining and informative narration. If you're new to Washington, one option to consider is to ride an entire loop to get a good feel for what you will want to go back and visit as you hop-off and hop-on at various stops on the loop. In a full day, you can make approximately 5-6 stops to visit many, but not all, of the hundreds of available attractions.
All buses are wheelchair-accessible.
The specific routes for these tours may be changed due to weather, road closures or special events in Washington. During holiday periods, closure of roads and streets often results in service diversions and disruptions over which your tour supplier has not control, but they will do their best to ensure you have the opportunity to explore and enjoy Washington, DC. If your reservation is for a holiday period, please ask your guide or driver on the day of the tour for specific information regarding your tour.
Some federal facilities are closed on weekends and holidays; some require timed tickets resulting in extended waiting in line for tours. No timed tickets are included in the tour price.
The 50-minute Harbor Cruise departs from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm (hourly). This option is only available mid-March through mid-October and is only included when you purchase the 48-hour option. As bus stops are subject to change, guests need to ask the bus attendant or driver which specific stop they will need to hop off to take the harbor cruise. The Harbor Cruise has a Refreshment Bar on board offering spirits, beer & wine, sodas, and snacks.

Good product. Well organised and will recommend to others.
Our experience the Hop-On Hop-Off was great!! We're planning on coming again, as we just couldn't do D.C. justice in one day. We'll going the bus route agai, for sure!!\n
Would recommend to anyone traveling in DC. \nArea.
I went around once before I began to hop and I had a great time. It was the first time for my friend to be in DC and we both got to see the sights without the stress of trying to find our way around the District.
The tour was a great way to see all the hotspots in DC. It takes you to all the museums, monuments and the drivers are friendly and courteous. It was a great value for the price.
I use your company everytime i have guests.\n
Best way to get around Washington and flexible as well. We saw pretty much everything we wanted to by using the Hop On Hop Off Double Decker Bus\n
the tour was amazing, i will do it again
Hop-On-Hop-Off is the most ideal way to see Washington, DC, as it allows you to tailor your own tour based on your interests and time constraints without having to hail a cab every time you want to go from one site to the next. If time is limited, it's easy to skip lower priority attractions and focus on those attractions of higher priority.
Transportation within the city was excellent. People were very helpful and friendly
The best way to tour DC!
Excellent service and easy way to obtain tour tickets. Great service for travelers who take the time to plan their itinerary in advance.
Would recommend to anyone
First time use. Special trip with grandson.
It was our first time doing the tour and employees were helpful and courteous.
Your service was prompt and friendly and fills a big need for ANY city. I will use it again and look for it in other cities.
I really appreciated the fact that you could spend as much time at a designation as you wanted and then just catch the next bus that came along rather than being on someone else's schedule.
Great variety with the number of routes gives a great overall view of the city
We had a visitor with some mobility issues who wanted to see DC so this was a perfect idea for her, but I discovered that it was also a great way to see everything without walking for hours. A little pricey for families, I suspect, but well worth the cost for the four of us!
It is a very good product and we recommend to all visitors to use it.
would recommend to anyone that is going to dc
I would recommend the DC Tours to everyone.
I recommend it to everyone that never been to DC. It is the best way to discover what DC has to offer.

Great Service!! I will use them in the future. Highly recommended!!!
I definitely recommend the bus tour.
This is an easy way to make reservations for medium to large groups.
Best way to see Washington!
not much to say, as we were really satisfied with the bus, the personal and the chauffeur.
it was very easy to identify the hop on locations, tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable in the subject
If you want to see Washington DC, the double decker bus is the way to go.
THe Hop on Hop Off staff were brilliant, well worth the money, shame we didnt have enough time to see everything
Although we didn't get off the bus, we all enjoyed the tour very much. My 80 year old mother had never been to DC and she really enjoyed the trip! Our guide was fabulous.
We appreciated the excellent customer service given by our driver Mr. ***
We would recommend to others
I would recommend the bus tour to anyone visiting DC or live here like I do. It is great for people who have limited walking abiity. It also shows you places you may want to look at but not get out and see. No traffic headaches either.
i followed the map plus i used the app for my phone to follow along or see what was highlighted at the next stop
Very informative, recording of tour and driver. I would recommend this type of tour to anyone who is interested in the little nuances of DC.
We enjoyed the tours and would recommend the tour to anyone who is visiting the DC area

anyone going to washington
this is a great travel value!\ni have recommended it to everyone that i know that is traveling
Ive lived in DC for six years and this was my first "official"" tour. I enjoyed the experience and will definitely use again when family and friends visit. "
We did the Hop-on-Hop Off. Sometimes unable to get a seat.
Bus had useful stops and routes. It was a very good way to get around in Washington, DC
I would recommend this for anyone who flies in and wants to see the sites. We went all the way around then knew where we wanted to stop and where to get back on.\n
The tour was great but I sure wish we could have seen the White House alittle closer. And the Lincoln Statue was not shown at all.
Great way to explore the city for tourists.
there should be more buses on some routes. near the end of the day, it was a very long wait and we needed to be back to make other connections so we had to cut our day very short
bus was nice, just crowded
Very happy and satisfied
Some tour guides were better than others.
Overall we had a good experimce
See previous statement.
for a tour of the city, friends and family
once you knew what to do - it was easy
Grea! Other than our stop at the mall.
We like being able to hop on / off at the various locations. Sometimes it was confusing where to stand for catching the next bus.
it was fine.
would never go site seeing in DC during spring break again.. too many people. plus movement at the White house causes us a very long delay!
The service showed us the general lay of the land and included a nice harbor boat tour, but the time to travel between sites and the crowds did not allow for easy on/off. We used the metrorail to get around to our chosen sites ie. National Cathedral, Smithsonians, Arlington the second day, although we had purchased a two day pass.
Again, it was difficult to know where the stops were and there was nothing on website to help.
It was alright, A bit hot and crowded that weekend, and the buses seemed to be running a bit slow.
Due to the "Government Shutdown"" in Washington D.C.
Must getting a survey now? We used the bus last August! Equally slow was the bus - we had long waits between sights.
